Nigel Hayes could be another young star that the New York Knicks need to tap into.
The New York Knicks have quite a few young players that deserve minutes down the stretch of this season, Nigel Hayes is now one of them after spending time with the Toronto Raptors.
A former University of Wisconsin stand out, Hayes is now back with the Knicks’ G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, after signing two 10 day contracts with the Raptors.
After playing with Toronto for two 10-day contracts, forward Nigel Hayes will return to the Westchester Knicks. Westchester will host a semifinal game in the G League playoffs on April 2. They finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference.

During his first stint with the Raptors, Hayes put up an impressive performance against Knicks and it might be a smart move for the Knicks to release Jarrett Jack and sign him to their main roster in order to give him some playing during the the final two weeks of the season.
Hayes even taunted the Knicks in the fourth quarter after hitting one of his two three point shots against New York.
For Hayes, it’s a shame the Raptors didn’t keep him around, since they’re the best team in the east right now and he would be playing for a playoff team. For now he’ll have to continue to prove himself in Westchester and even possibly during the Summer League.
