The New York Knicks have to stay away from LiAngelo Ball.
With the NBA Draft only a few months away, it will be interesting to see whether or not the New York Knicks show any interest in LiAngelo Ball.
Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports broke the news on Tuesday that LiAngelo Ball, the brother of Los Angeles Lakers’ rookie point guard Lonzo Ball, will enter the 2018 NBA Draft as he finishes up his first season in Lithuania with BC Vytautas.

The question is, is LiAngelo Ball worth drafting?
No, he’s not and he likely won’t be. But at least one NBA team might be interested in giving him a look in the summer league and/or G League.
One team that shouldn’t even think about giving Ball a chance is the New York Knicks and I have three reasons to stay away from him.
LiAngelo’s dad, LaVar, is one big walking distraction and the last thing a team like the Knicks needs is more distractions.
Some people would argue that drafting Lonzo Ball hasn’t been worth it for the Lakers, given the fact that LaVar has been a huge distraction off the court.
I know some people might believe that it would be worth it for a team to sign LiAngelo to a G League contract, but once again, this would allow LaVar to become a distraction and it’s simply not worth it.
LiAngelo Ball can’t help the Knicks right now
The Knicks need young players that can help them within the next 2-3 years. LiAngelo Ball may never be good enough to play in the NBA and if he is, he won’t make an impact for at least another five years.
LiAngelo would have been better off staying at UCLA and playing four years of college ball. He’s not a one and done player, but LaVar believes he is and that’s unfortunate.
He’s not athletic enough
The Knicks already have enough unathletic players from the Phil Jackson regime. With LiAngelo being a shooting guard/small forward, he’s not a good fit at all for the Knicks.
Not only is LiAngelo not athletic enough, but he’s a terrible defender and has a hard time when it comes to getting to the basket.
