The New York Knicks would be very fortunate to land a top-five draft pick this year.
As disappointing as this season has been for the New York Knicks and their fans, there is one positive thing to consider.
Ian Begley of ESPN mentioned that the Knicks are closing in on a chance to increase their chances of landing a top-five pick in this June’s NBA Draft.
Correcting earlier tweet: NYK’s in 9th place in the "Lottery Standings." (They had the 12th-worst record before losing 13 of 14). If NYK surpass CHI, its odds to land top-3 pick increase from 6% to 10%. Previous (deleted) tweet's odds factored projected finishes, per ESPN BPI.

The Knicks might have a hard time catching up to the Bulls, who have been doing their very best when it comes to tanking. The NBA just warned them about playing too many reserve players while cutting down the minutes of their starters.
At this point one thing is certain, the Knicks will more than likely have at least a top-10 pick. If they end up with the ninth overall pick, New York would have a chance at selecting Villanova small forward Mikal Bridges, who they’ve already shown interest in.
The Knicks could also land Kentucky wing Kevin Knox. He ended up dropping 34 points on West Virginia early on during the college basketball season.
