Not all players on the New York Knicks have been on board with head coach Jeff Hornacek’s rotations this season.
New York Knicks’ head coach Jeff Hornacek was finally given full control over his offense this season with Phil Jackson now gone.
Ian Begley of ESPN wrote on Wednesday that some players on the Knicks have been unhappy with Hornacek’s rotations this season.
Some players have privately grumbled about Hornacek’s rotations, according to sources familiar with the matter, but Hornacek was given the freedom to run his own offense and was handed an imbalanced roster and tasked with trying to fight for a playoff spot while developing young players.
It would be great if we knew which players were unhappy, but we don’t have the information.
Now that the Knicks aren’t expected to make the playoffs and are playing their younger guys more, I would imagine some of the veteran players on the team may not be happy with their minutes going down.
Right now, Hornacek has to prove that he can keep the Knicks competitive while trying to win games down the stretch. If he can do so, there might be a small chance he’ll be able to keep his job.
