The New York Knicks are dysfunctional when it comes to having the ability to close out games and Kristaps Porzingis knows it.
New York Knicks’ star Kristaps Porzingis was very blunt following Sunday afternoon’s home loss to the worst team in the NBA in the Atlanta Hawks.
“I can’t even process that we lost,” Kristaps Porzingis said, per Ian Begley of ESPN.com (via Bleacher Report). “I can’t believe it. It was our game. It was 100 percent our game. Stuff happened quick, and boom, it was over. We’re just not there yet as a team. We keep losing these games.”
Porzingis hit it right on the head when he said that they simply don’t know how to win games.
“We don’t know how to finish games. We don’t know how to win games at the end,” Porzingis said.
The Knicks have lost 10 of their last 14 games and a big reason for that is the fact that they don’t have a single player on their roster that they can rely on in order to close out close games.
Tim Hardaway Jr. has been struggling lately and Porzingis isn’t ready to carry the Knicks.
I’m not sure how this team holds onto players like Courtney Lee and Kyle O’Quinn with the trade deadline this week. It’s time to move on and give some younger players more minutes.
