It looks like New York Knicks’ center Willy Hernagomez is excited about the possibility of being traded.
Most NBA players stress out when the trade deadline approaches and they’re unsure whether they’re going to have to move to another team. The last thing they want to do is uproot their life, learn a new system, make new friends and get accustomed to playing with new teammates.
Not when it comes to New York Knicks’ center Willy Hernagomez, he’s excited about this week’s trade deadline.
“I’m kind of excited to see what happens,” Hernangomez said, via Newsday.
Despite a strong rookie season, Hermagomez has been stuck behind Enes Kanter and Kyle O’Quinn, would love to get a chance to play more. Even if that means being traded.
I’m sure Hernagomez wouldn’t mind playing for a team like the San Antonio Spurs, since they are one of teams that is interested in him.
“My situation is like this,” Hernangomez said, “I’ve been really patient. I’m working hard every day. I try to be ready for when my opportunity comes. But I’m ready for anything that comes.
“I just want to play. I love New York, I love my teammates. But I need to play. I love basketball so much. I need to play.”
