Has Joakim Noah played his last game for the New York Knicks?
Ever since New York Knicks’ center Joakim Noah left the team’s west coast road trip early just last week, the thought was that he would return some time this week. It doesn’t look like he’ll be around for another week or so.
Ian Begley of ESPN is reporting that Noah won’t return until after the February 8th trade deadline, if he returns at all.
Hornacek said Monday that Noah might return for Friday’s game in Milwaukee, but there is a growing sense that the 33-year-old center might not be back with the club before the Feb. 8 trade deadline — if at all.
With the Knicks trying to make a playoff run with a young team, Begley believes that the last thing they want is for Noah to be around younger players like Frank Ntilikina and Willy Hernagomez, given the fact that he’s so unhappy with his lack of a role.
So far there haven’t been any reports of the Knicks and Noah talking about a possible buy out, but as far as we know, he’s not interested in accepting one. Given the fact that he doesn’t want to give up any of the money that he’s owed.
The Knicks are in a really bad spot when it comes to Noah and there doesn’t seem to be a great solution right now.
