Hopefully Ron Baker can bounce back and grow as a player heading into next season for the New York Knicks.
New York Knicks’ guard Ron Baker has had a rough season. He already had shoulder labrum surgery earlier in the season. Most recently he’s been wearing a mask after suffering a fractured cheek bone.
Now Baker’s season is over after the Knicks announced on Wednesday that he suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder during Tuesday night’s win over the Brooklyn Nets.
With Baker’s season likely over, the Knicks announced earlier in the day that rookie guard Damyean Doston has been recalled from Westchester, after spending some time in the G League.
Medical update: An MRI on Ron Baker’s right shoulder revealed a shoulder dislocation and torn labrum. He will be out indefinitely.

When it comes to Baker’s injury, players that will happily take over his minutes will be Trey Burke and Frank Ntilikina.
Ntilikina and Burke both finished Tuesday’s win over the Nets on the floor at the same time. Given the fact that Ntilikina is 6-foot-6, he can play the two spot.
When it comes to Burke, he’s been one of the most efficient players in the NBA since coming over from the G League and deserves more minutes.
