Players on the New York Knicks know that they have to step things up before their season completely falls apart.
It seems like every struggling NBA team has been holding a players only meeting lately and the New York Knicks are now one of them.
Rebecca Haarlow of MSG reported on Friday night that the Knicks held a players only meeting after Thursday night’s embarrassing loss to the Denver Nuggets.
Knicks playing w energy; Lee & Thomas called players only meeting this a.m. & raising the level of competition was the core. It’s working.

The Knicks’ problems aren’t at the offensive end of the floor, but rather on defense. They’ve been giving up way too many points, which has been keeping them from winning a few games on their road trip.
Knicks’ star forward Kristaps Porzingis explained things best when he said that it doesn’t take talent to play defense. They need to make more of an effort.
“Defense is not talent,” Porzingis said, via NorthJersey.com. “Defense is effort, intensity and communication. If we bring it (Friday against the Suns), especially because it will be a similar type of game, they run a lot and they shoot a lot of shots in transition, we have to be ready for that kind of basketball.”
