Walt Frazier claims he didn’t know that New York Knicks’ star Kristaps Porzingis was injured.
New York Knicks legend and MSG analyst Walt Clyde Frazier called out star forward Kristaps Porzingis for sitting out this past Tuesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors while appearing on the Warriors pregame radio show.
“He’s on the threshold of greatness, but you got to go against the Warriors, man,” Frazier said, via the NY Daily News. “We’ve played against some elite teams this year and he hasn’t been ready to play. You can’t be injured against those type of teams. Like (Tuesday night) the team needs him. You’re an All-Star, you’ve just been voted to the All-Star team so go out there and show the Warriors why.”
“I was told he was resting and didn’t know there was an injury,’’ Frazier said, via the NY Post. “That’s a mitigating factor.’’
I was quite surprised when it came out that Frazier was ripping Porzingis for sitting out, it makes sense that the only reason he did so was because he didn’t realize Porzingis was injured.
Porzingis ended up playing on Thursday night in a loss to the Denver Nuggets. He finished the game with 21 points and seven rebounds.
