It sounds like Michael Beasley wants to re-sign with the New York Knicks.
With the way New York Knicks’ forward Michael Beasley has been playing this season, there’s not a doubt in anyone’s mind that he’s going to land a nice payday as a free agent this coming summer.
I just wrote this week how the Knicks will have a tough decision to make when it comes to whether or not they re-sign Beasley.
Golden State Warriors’ star Kevin Durant told the San Jose Mercury News that it would be “amazing’’ to be able to play with Beasley next year if he were to decide to sign with the Warriors, according to the NY Post.
What’s interesting is that it sounds like Beasley would like to re-sign with the Knicks after moving around so much during his career.
“He’s a best friend. Why not?’’ Beasley said. “But right now I’m a New York Knick. So me placing myself on another team during the season is not fair to my guys. Let the summer be the summer.
“One thing I do think about it is me being tired of moving — having a long-time home,’’ Beasley added. “I don’t want to move anymore.’’
On Wednesday, Beasley was told that Durant said that “he’s found a solid home in New York and hopefully he sticks there,” Beasley responded, “Me too,” according to The Post.
The one problem the Knicks face right now, is that they’re not going to have a lot of money to work with this coming summer. And if they do pay Beasley, they would have to find a spot for him in the starting line-up.
