It looks like the New York Knicks could make some moves at the trade deadline.
With the NBA trade deadline only days away, things seem to be heating up for the New York Knicks.
Ian Begley of ESPN is reporting that executives around the league believe the Knicks will trade one of their four centers.
There was a report on Monday that teams have been contacting the Knicks about 23 year-old center Willy Hernangomez. While the Golden State Warriors are interested in veteran Kyle O’Quinn, with Enes Kanter also drawing interest.
Begley also wrote that the one center on the Knicks that could give them the best return is Hernangomez, due to his age and the fact that his contract is a lot cheaper than that of Kanter and O’Quinn, who both have player options for next season.
Two other Knicks players that are drawing interest, are wings Courtney Lee and Lance Thomas, according to Begley. The belief though, is that New York doesn’t want to trade Lee, unless they could get a nice return.
Lee has been good at times for the Knicks, but if they do decide to trade him and/or Thomas, that would tell me that they’re not even going to bother to try and make the playoffs this season.
When it comes to the center position, I the best move for the Knicks would be to unload O’Quinn due to the fact that he’s expected to leave this summer.
