There is one trade scenario for the New York Knicks that makes sense when it comes to Kemba Walker.
It was very eye-opening when news broke on Saturday morning that the Charlotte Hornets are interested in talking with the New York Knicks when it comes to trading star point guard Kemba Walker.
Unfortunately, the Hornets want to unload one of their undesirable contracts on top of moving Walker.
I’ve already come up with some trade scenarios that could work for both sides, but in all honesty, it would be a mistake for New York to take on one of Charlotte’s bad contracts.
The trade that makes the most sense for both teams is below.
PG Kemba Walker
C Kyle O’Quinn
PG Frank Ntilikina
O’Quinn is a good center that could help the Hornets, and since he’s expected to opt out of his contract after this season, it makes sense for the Knicks to trade him.
Ntilikina would give the Hornets a good young point guard that they can develop with Walker out the door.
Now if the scenario above isn’t enough for the Hornets, it wouldn’t be too much for the Knicks to trade their first round pick for the 2018 NBA Draft due to the fact that Walker is a proven all-star that’s in his prime. He’s been averaging over 21 points a game this season and could instantly help the Knicks.
