Jordan Clarkson of the Los Angeles Lakers could help the New York Knicks’ sputtering offense.
The New York Knicks’ offense has tailed off over the past several games and they’ve had a hard time putting games away.
What the Knicks need is another player that can come in and hit some big shots down the stretch.
The Los Angeles Lakers might have a player that can help the Knicks and the good news is that they’re trying to trade him.
The player that can really help the Knicks is Clarkson.
While Clarkson has mostly played point guard, he stands at 6-foot-5, so he could also play shooting guard and might be an upgrade over Courtney Lee for the Knicks.
Clarkson is only 25 years-old and is averaging 14.2 points per game, while the 32 year-old Lee is averaging 13.5 points per game and has been up and down this season.
Over the past three seasons Clarkson has been averaging over 14 points per game, while Lee has been lucky to surpass 10 points per game.
With the Lakers recently releasing Andrew Bogut, they could use a center and the Knicks can help them by sending Kyle O’Quinn to Los Angeles, but of course we don’t know if that would interest them.
Acquiring O’Quinn would make sense for LA, since they’re looking to unload some contracts in order to free up cap space for free agency this summer. Of course that’s if the Knicks want to take on Clarkson’s contract that will pay him over $11 million this season, $12 million next season and over $13 million the season after.
I know the Knicks just added Trey Burke, but moving O’Quinn for a player like Clarkson could be a good move for New York.
