The New York Knicks have been off to a good start to the season, but can they keep it up?
The 2016 New York Knicks were off to a good start before the wheels started to fall off last season.
Knicks’ head coach Jeff Hornacek says he’s confident that this year’s team will quit like last year’s.
“Usually when you have an older team — veteran guys — and the losses start piling up guys have a tendency to go, ‘Okay, the season (is over),'” Hornacek said. “These guys are going to fight until the end of the season no matter what our record is. A lot of young guys, they know we’re working not just for this year, but for the next couple of years to get better at certain things. So there won’t be any quit in these guys.”
Hornacek can be as positive as he wants, but the Knicks have had a very friendly schedule to start the season with mostly home games. They now face a heavy road schedule to start 2018.
The Knicks have some tough road games this week alone against teams like the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans after losing at home to the Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas Day.
It’s safe to say that by the end of January we’ll know whether or not this year’s team is for real or not.
