New York Knicks’ star Kristaps Porzingis opened up about some things during a recent interview.
New York Knicks’ superstar Kristaps Porzingis sat down and did an interview with Rachel Nichols of ESPN.
During the interview, Porzingis said that he continues to stay in contact with Carmelo Anthony, even though he now plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder after being traded during the offseason.
Porzingis admitted that the atmosphere around the team is different this season with Phil Jackson no longer around. He said that it’s a breathe of fresh air, since they have more freedom when it comes to the way they play.
Porzingis also talked about other players around the NBA reaching out to him during the offseason in order to try and get him to play for their teams when trade rumors were surrounding him. He made it clear that he wants to stay in New York and try and win a championship.
You can watch Porzingis’ interview below.
When it comes to this season being a fresh air for the Knicks, I’m sure it’s nice to not have Jackson trying to have head coach Jeff Hornacek run his triangle offense despite the fact that it’s not a good fit for the team.
