Carmelo Anthony is only going to regress going forward and it’s a good thing he’s no longer with the New York Knicks.
While it was unfortunate to watch the New York Knicks trade away Carmelo Anthony this past summer, it was the right move.
It also looks like the Knicks got rid of Anthony at the perfect time.
FOX Sports NBA insider Chris Broussard was a guest on The Herd on Friday and brought up a great point about Anthony.
First Broussard said that with Melo being a 15-year veteran now, it’s only down hill from here on out for him.
Check out what Broussard had to say in the video below.
While Anthony doesn’t have a huge role with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he’s not hitting his shots like he did with the Knicks. He’s only averaging 17 points per game and is connecting on 40 percent of his sots. While his points per game average being down isn’t a surprise, his field goal percent going down is a concern.
Now of course Anthony could get better as this season goes on, but I’m not sure that’s going to happen.
Now Melo’s average could be down due to the fact that it’s difficult for him to get into a rhythm on offense with Paul George and Russell Westbrook having to get their shots. But with him also being 33 years-old, there’s no doubt he’s on the backend of his career.
