One of the best players in the NBA in Kyrie Irving had some nice things to say about New York Knicks’ rookie Frank Ntilikina.
New York Knicks’ rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina put together a nice performance during Thursday night’s win over the Boston Celtics and Kyrie Irving took notice.
“He’s a great on ball defender, man. Very long. Very active. Not afraid of the big moments. Just a developing young player. Can’t wait to play against him more times throughout this league,” said Irving, via Ian Begley of ESPN.
Ntilikina ended up finishing the game with eight points, two steals, one assist and one rebound. He also hit some big shots on Thursday for New York.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and having a seven foot wingspan, Ntilikina is a nightmare for opposing players and has already proven that he can play defense in the NBA.
We don’t know how good Ntilikina will be over the net few years, but things look promising for the young 19 year-old Frenchman.
One thing that’s really helped a guy like Ntilikina is having a veteran point guard like Jarrett Jack to mentor him during his first NBA season. Even though he hasn’t started any games this year, he’s shown plenty of promise so far.
