Kristaps Porzingis carried the New York Knicks to a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
The New York Knicks showed up and played a very good game against a young and energetic Los Angeles Lakers team as they came away with a 113-109 win in overtime.
Here are three observations from the Knicks’ win.
Frank Ntilikina is coming along nicely
Knicks’ rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina may not be a starter, but head coach Jeff Hornacek was confident enough in him to help New York win down the stretch after having him on the floor for the entire fourth quarter and overtime.
Ntilikina finished the game with 13 points, five rebounds and five assists. He’s coming along very nicely. It also helps that Ntilikina plays very good defense.
Kristaps Porzingis showed up on national TV
Knicks’ superstar Kristaps Porzingis came to play on a nationally televised game against a solid young Lakers team. He made some huge shots all night and finished with 37 points and 11 rebounds.
The Knicks are in good hands. They just need Porzingis to stay healthy.
The Knicks are an average team
Let’s face it, the Knicks are not great this season and they’re also not bad. They’re average. That’s why they’re currently 14-13.
The good news is that average teams can make the playoffs in the east.
