Now it sounds like Kristaps Porzingis wants to re-sign with the New York Knicks.
Janis Porzingis, the brother and agent of New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis, recently told a Latavian news outlet that Kristaps could decide to not re-sign with the Knicks.
Following Friday night’s win over the Phoenix Suns, Kristaps Porzingis made it clear that he wants to stick around in New York for a long time.
“I’m here in New York, I love New York and I see myself as a Knick for a long, long time,” Porzingis said Friday, via Newsday. “I think they shouldn’t be worrying about that.”
The Knicks have will have the chance to sign Porzingis to a max contract next summer, but he’s made it clear in the past that he wants to see more from the Knicks before he commits long-term.
Now the Carmelo Anthony is no longer around and the Knicks are Porzingis’ team, he’s been on a tear this season. With big name players leaving their respective teams for a chance to team up with other stars, Porzingis sticking around in the Big Apple isn’t a guarantee.
