The New York Knicks finally got their first win of the season after starting the season 0-3.
The New York Knicks were able to come away with their first win of the 2017-18 season after defeating the Brooklyn Nets 107-86 on Friday night.
There are a few takeaways that I got from this win.
Tim Hardaway Jr. needs help
After a strong season with the Atlanta Hawks in 2016-17, it’s weird to see how Tim Hardaway Jr. has fallen off. His shot is completely off as he scored only 11 points against the Nets after going 4-of-12 from the field and 1-of-5 from three point range.
The Knicks need to help Hardaway get back on track after giving him a huge contract this past offseason. I’m not sure what it’s going to take for him to start playing better.
Kristaps Porzingis is a superstar
Kristaps Porzingis is putting up the numbers that star players have to in order to lead their teams to wins. Unfortunately the Knicks only have one win during their first four games of the season, but him putting up over 30 points in three of those games is huge.
All the Knicks need is for the rest of their team to come together and continue to play strong defense like they did against the Nets.
Enes Kanter was a nice acquisition
While the Knicks probably didn’t get what they really deserved for Carmelo Anthony, center Enes Kanter has been one of their few bright spots early on this season.
Kanter didn’t play a lot minutes against the Nets, but did add 12 points and six rebounds during the 16 minutes that he did play.
